We are confident that we will be able to offer our programs this winter in a safe and fun environment.

Groups will meet outside for their lessons and be outside for the duration.  We have taken out break time and indoor meeting time so have shortened the lesson length to reflect this.  The shorter lesson time will help keep everyone warm.  We have staggered start times to relieve congestion.

The lessons will be on Saturday mornings.  They will run for 9 weeks and include a lesson on the Family Day weekend.

Last day March 6 – “Bring a friend” (free day pass and $5 rentals), to Jackrabbits conquer the trails. Cake and refreshments will be provided.

Registration is first come, first serve, however we will give priority to parents who are willing to help lead a group. The Program Leader training course will be online, with two on-snow sessions as well, for all those interested in coaching Jackrabbits or Bunnies.

In the event of program cancellation, or if you wish to withdraw from a program because of COVID-19 concerns or because the schedule does not work for you, refunds will be available. Refunds will be in full if the program has not yet started, or pro-rated, for programs that are already underway.

WCC Youth Programs

Whether your goal is to compete on the international stage, or simply to develop the skills required for participation in cross-country skiing – a “sport for life” – we have the program for you.

Our programs are developed by Cross Country Canada and delivered through our Provincial Sport Organization; Cross Country Ontario.  Our youth programs follow the Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) Model, which integrates health and education with sport and physical activity.  It encourages all individuals to be involved in lifelong physical activity and articulates the need for all children, particularly those that have the capacity and interest to become elite athletes, to be given a solid foundation in physical, technical, tactical and mental capacities upon which to build their performance abilities.
