Officials Certification

CROSS COUNTRY SKI ONTARIO / NORTHERN ONTARIO DIVISION
OFFICIALS CERTIFICATION COURSE, 2018

Walden hosts a number of high calibre races throughout each season. We offer an excellent racing experience because we have trained and experienced officials onhand to ensure each event is well-structured, safe, fair and up to provincial and national standards. We have a great team, and strive to make it even stronger.

ITINERARY:

Monday, October 22  Monday, October 29 
5:30-6:30pm
– Preparation for Level 1. Online course and exam to be completed separately. This session will prepare participants for that.
6:30-9:00pm
– Level 2 instruction.

Monday, October 29  Monday, November 5
5:30-9:00pm
– Level 2 instruction.

Monday, November 5  Monday, November 12
5:30-9:00pm
– Level 2 instruction.

 
COST:
Free for Walden Cross Country Members and/or anyone who registers to volunteer at the 2019 Ontario Cup Races.
$45 for everyone else.

INSTRUCTOR:
Mary Waddell is a Level 3 Certified Official and Walden Cross Country’s Club President. She has a wealth of experience including officiating experiences at the Olympic Games, World Cup Events, Nationals, OFSAA, Arctic Winter Games, Canada Winter Games, Ontario University Championships, Ontario Cup Events, and countless High School, Elementary and Local Races.
 
REQUIRED MATERIALS:
  • a computer or tablet with a digital copy of the officials’ handbook
  • paper & pen
  • warm clothes as you will spend a good length of time outside
